Binigarba Semi-cured Cheese is one of our favorite cheeses, you can find it in its “Semi” or “Cured” version, you can also buy it in three different sizes: Wedge, Medium or Whole.
Menorca is an island closely envolved with agriculture and livestock. Undoubtedly one of our standards is the Mahón Cheese, a product that has established itself on the island and is known all around the world. Mahón cheese is a denomination of origin, and all the farms that produce it are following a strict protocol of production, they say that one of the great secrets is the saltpeter that located in the pastures of the island.
Binigarba, is a farm located west of the Island of Menorca, specifically in Ciutadella. It is located in the center of an area of megalithic monuments near the urban area.
In 1967, the farm began to produce cheese for the industry, being pioneers in the production of curd on the island. Binigarba started with a herd of twenty cows that has been increasing until today, already exceeding one hundred and fifty specimens of the Friesian breed.
The properties of the raw material provided by our herd, together with the excellent artisan production process, benefit the result of our products. Tradition, raw materials and experience favor the characteristic flavor and aroma of our Mahón Menorca Cheese.
Binigarba has an area of 74 hectares with 80% of the arable land. The cattle feed on the natural pastures produced by the farm and a selection of balanced feed. It has a milking parlor and a stall area free of cubicles with mats for the cows.
